Download changes to Qualifying times V2 - 14/7/10

Notable Changes to next years County Age Groups & Championships

1) Times must be achieved at Level, 2, 3, 4 meets from 1st May 2010

2) No long course converted times

3) Dates are Friday March 4th (long distance), Saturday 5th (3 sessions), Sunday 6th (2 sessions), 19th,  (3 sessions) and 20th (2 sessions) Age as at 20th March 2011

4) If you have a 200m time where applicable qualify for 50m event in the same stroke automatically the same   applies to 200m Ind. Medley automatically qualify for the 100m Ind. Medley where appropriate. If you do not have 200m times but have the 50m times and 100m times you can still enter.

5) Concession for 2011 competition - 9 year olds at 20th March will be able to enter without a ranking time, but will only be considered if there is sufficient room to accommodate them, those with licensed meet times will have precedence. ‘Rising’ nine year olds will still be able to obtain times in closed licensed meets, i.e. Club champs.

6) There will be one entry for an event as in an ‘Open Meet’ and the age groups etc., will be extracted from the overall entry. This will ensure that the top fastest swimmers will be in the Championship Final and each of the age group finals as appropriate. No finals for events in excess of 200m, nor for Youths.

7) Entry fees will be £6.00 and £8.00 Long distance events.

8) Time trials can be used for 400m, 800m 1500m Freestyle and 400m Ind. Medley for 2011 only.

9) Long distance events on the Friday evening will have limited entries to a maximum of 4 heats of each event. There will be a maximum of 1 heat of 800m for boys and 1 heat of 1500m for girls.

 

 

 

Development Meet

1) Sunday 21st November

2) Licensed at Level 4

3) Purely 200m event

4) Gold medals for winners of the event, Congratulations for achieving County Qualifying times certificate, for those who exceed that time are subsequently disqualified (speeding tickets)

5) Swimmers cannot enter any event they already have a county QT for or that they have previously swam at the Development Meet (i.e. 9 year old 50m free last year cannot swim 10 year old 50 free this year) or at previous County Championships

6) 2011 County QT’s form the upper limit on entry times

7) Individual entry fee to be £5.00

Autumn Open Meet 2010

Bishop's Stortford Swimming Club is pleased to announce we will be holding our 2nd Two Day Autumn Open Meet on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th September 2010.

New swimwear laws effective from 1st January 2010

New FINA bylaws on swimwear with effect from 01-01-2010 for all competitions except Masters events.

All FINA approved swimwear to be used at the Olympic Games and FINA World Championships must be approved by FINA at least twelve (12) months prior to the start of the respective competition. In addition, it must be available for all competitors by 1st January of the year of the Olympic Games or FINA World Championships.

In swimming competitions the competitor must wear only one swimsuit in one or two pieces. No additional items, like arm bands or leg bands shall be regarded as parts of a swimsuit.

From January 1st 2010 swimwear for men shall not extend above the navel nor below the knee, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor shall extend below knee. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials.

Please also remember that you may only wear one swimsuit when you are competing in a race.
